Greg Swinney

Greg Swinney accepted the call as Ministry Facilitator of Crossroads International Student Ministries in 2010, but his passion to reach out to international college students started many years before.  As Statewide Ministry Director for Christian Student Fellowship for 26 years, he led the outreach efforts on campuses across Nebraska particularly in Kearney, NE where campus ministries from across the country have sent interns to train in this unique setting in the Midwest.

Each year in campus ministry increased Greg’s desire to pursue his passion of nationwide outreach to these amazing students.  He saw the loneliness as students were so far from their families, shared the joy as friendships formed, quietly chatted as they asked questions about Christianity, and opened doors of opportunity as students came closer and closer to accepted Jesus.  As more and more internationals stepped out in faith into the waters of baptism, Greg knew the need could not be met in Nebraska alone.  He and his wife, Laurie accepted the call to lead Crossroads International and lead campus ministers across the nation to experience the challenges and rewards of working with international students.

A native of Nebraska, Greg holds an undergraduate degree from Nebraska Christian College and two graduate degrees from Cincinnati Christian Seminary and the University of Nebraska respectively.

Greg’s role with Crossroads is that of an equipper of the staff and student leaders and one who will assist in casting the vision for the organization of reaching the 850,000 college students in the United States and eventually, in other parts of the world.

Over the years Greg has worked to provide quality materials for Bible study and personal spiritual growth for both American and international students.  His writings have found their way into publications such as the Christian Standard, the Lookout Magazine, and the Nebraska Speech Communication Journal.  Most recently his book, The Solid Foundations Spiritual Notebook, (now with over ten thousand in print) was published by Standard Publishing.  Available through Amazon.com, this book gives an individual a tool to help grow spiritual through journaling.

Greg’s wife, Laurie, is an Accounting Professor at the University of Nebraska/Kearney, and has prepared countless meals for groups of international students as she opens their home and their hearts for these young adults.    Greg and Laurie have two grown children, Beth and Nathan.
